I'm sorry that I was confusing. You wouldn't use a cell-phone connection if
you had a WiFi connection. In fact, if you have a high speed, reliable WiFi
connection, you can make voice phone calls over it using Skype or other
applications (using your PC's speaker and microphone). The nice thing about
phone calls over WiFi (also called VOIP - voice over IP) is that they are
low-to-no cost, even in the Bahamas.
WiFi is a cruisers dream because it answers many of the data/phone issues of
traveling.
