I came across this comment in another forum just now, and thought it
might be worth posting here. The poster is apparently a wildlife
biologist and was responding to a discussion about seagull annoyances
similar to the "seagull" thread on the trawler list. I thought the last
part of the last sentence was particularly apropos. The person wrote--
"All these responses are amusing. The important one, however, is that
seagulls are protected, and you mess with them at your legal peril.
Live with them. They have as much "right" to be here as we do and have
you noticed the amount of mess we make?"
