Mike asks if it is possible to buy a boat in China. Absolutely--and I have a
number of friends who have done that and brought the boat back to the U S on
its own bottom. That way the duty is less--and you had a great cruise! There
can be some problems--most of my friends sent everything that they wanted on
the boat over in a sealed container and then put the items aboard when the
boat was launched.
Seahorse Marine sells direct. It used to be that you could walk down the
street in Taiwan and select a boat builder and have a "brand name" boat
constructed to your specs.
