    Sorry, I did not mean to disparage "elk", so pick any one of that ilk. That's

      Try hanging a few CD's you don't like (Michael Jackson or Kenny G or anyone
    of that elk) from a mast or spreader. This works on Barn Swallows (they hang
    around marinas and nest under the docks here in the NE)

        I have had Bald Eagles (the world's dumbest bird after the Sage Grouse)
        fly directly at and challenge the de Havilland Beaver I was flying,
        I've had vultures refuse to alter their soaring circle to accommodate my
        approaching plane to the point where I had to maneuver to avoid them.
        But I have flown unavoidably through huge flocks of seagulls while
        landing and never hit a single one. Their ability to maneuver out of
        the way of other things in the air is phenomenal to see.
