I'm right up the bay in Clear Lake. I used ablative paint once, and it works
OK as long as you either scrub the bottom or quick-haul the boat
occasionally (maybe every 6-12 months) to clean it. I now use a hard bottom
paint, Petit Trinidad, and get 3+ years out of it. Every time I quick haul
the boat, the bottom is spotless. Like anything, it'll work just as well as
the quality of the paint and the application.
