    Sorry for the double post but I have one last thought on this dead horse.

    When I have installed hoses on autos I can't remember a time when I had to
    use a heat stripper gun to get the hose off or on. Usually once the
    corrosion that binds the hose on a car fitting is broken, you can twist it
    right off.

    On my boats, the hoses are so rigid and hard, new and old, that I have had
    to heat the hose to remove and install them.
    A utility knife will cut right through an auto hose...try that on a marine
    hose...exception: the cheap bilge pump hoses.

    Common sense tells me there is a difference.

    I am all about saving money, but for a few dollars difference in a hose, I
    would select the marine hose for anything that could sink the boat or damage
    expensive equipment.
