    Well, it would be nice if they all did. English cars had hoses covered with a
    cloth material. I would guess they also had powerful water pumps, for on many
    models, if you reved the engine and watched, the top hose, with a couple of
    acordion pleats, would swell alarmingly. The lower hose would decrease in
    diameter. The lower would also delaminate, and the thin inner lining did a pretty
    good job of restricting water flow.I have also seen this happen to US vehicles
    that had cheap hoses replacing the original.
    I started tinkering with cars about 1950, and have seen bad lower hoses
    creating these symptoms at least half dozen times.
    Never is a long time.
