There has been some posts about issues with these heaters to the extent
that as an owner of the CO45 unit I contacted the company to hear their
side of the story, since they have done well by me so far. I give below
their response in full for anyone who may have an interest in them:

"This is in response to the Post from Mike Cowan regarding the problems
he experienced with his Hurricane Heaters. We want to first acknowledge
that the problems Mr. Cowan had with our heaters were unfortunate and,
frankly, somewhat surprising. ITR worked with Mr. Cowan to resolve the
problems and, when it became apparent that we could not satisfy his
concerns, we agreed to refund his purchase 100%- including items that he
retained. ITR management made this decision based on the specifics of
the situation. Mr. Cowan is correct in saying that the 105 has been
withdrawn from the market, but the final reason was the lack of sales
for that particular model and the fact that we have a replacement
product due to debut next year based on our new modular concept.

Regarding the expressed concerns about the safety of the 105 heaters, we
can offer the following observations: First, we have thousands of our
products in commercial and military use world-wide, based on the same
technology. These units have an enviable safety record that has been
completely documented. ITR stands behind its products and has become a
standard for the level of our customer support. Our products are safe
and fully suited for their intended use. ITR has an on-going research
commitment that has as its goal the design and production of the best
products of their kind on the market. Our efforts to date have resulted
in our having become the standard by which other products are judged.
We are the choice to replace other brands of heaters when the customer
gets tired of high maintenance costs and unreliable operation.

On a personal note, I appreciate Mr. Cowan's description of me as a
"gift to the company", whether or not I deserve the description. I can
assure all of our past, current and future customers of one very
specific point. I am with this company because I believe in its product
and I believe in the company. I have had experience with Hurricane
since 1997, and it is completely clear to me that this company is made
up of a progressive and responsible group of highly talented and capable
individuals of which I am privileged to be a part. I would not continue
with this company if I had any other impression.

We want to be very clear, our products are safe, our level of control
over the operation of the heater is second to none and our efforts to
support our product have no equal in the marketplace. If any customers
have issues with our products or our company, they are encouraged to
call me at 800-755-1272 or 360-931-6915 or e-mail me at
. I will welcome opportunities to provide accurate
information about what we do and how we do it. "
