I have had both, although the AB was a 10' lightweight model. I now own a 10'
Caribe. It flies with a 10HP Merc (Commercial model with blue trim and shift
on the side - I haven't seen them in the US) with one and planes well when
balanced with two people. For three or four you will need a 15HP. Thieves in
    the
Caribbean won't try to steal a motor under 15HP. The AB had problems from the
start; the builder's plate was wrong; and the tow hooks and drain plug were
not properly sealed at the factory. But the Caribe has been flawless, and most
of my fellow cruisers seem to prefer Caribe as well; I'd say the ratio is
    about
2:1 If you are headed to the Caribbean, take your old dink and get a new one
there - you'll likely save $500. on the dink and the same on the motor.

    John and Kathy Youngblood asked:

In our search for a dinghy, we decided we definitely want an RIB and had
decided on a Caribe until someone started talking about the AB inflatable.
    Does
anyone have any knowledge of or personal experience with these boats?
