    I believe the card of choice is the Senao. It has more power and greater
    sensitivity than the competition:

    I have been using one with a small 3db external antenna and it works just
    fine. It is also being sold, rebranded, by the bbx-express marina wifi
    network here in the NW.

    It was no doubt from John Heron, this is not WiFiMax, which is not yet
    deployed, but a system which uses cat 5 cable to a bridge mounted right
    next to the antenna:
