This is a repost which was sent to three writers who do not necessarilly read
this list, one list member who is due to arrive in Penacola tomarrow, and The
Great loop list;

I disagree with the policy of the listmaster. I took several hours of my day
to give information which would be of benefit to all of the above and this
list.
The Repost:
I spent the morning surveying the marinas on Bayou Chico and down town
Pensacola. I hope to get to Orange Beach and the Perdido Key area in the
next few days (still cannot get my boat out of the bayou because of fallen
trees).
In Bayou Chico: Island Cove Marina has both gas and diesel. Diesel is $
2.29.
Harbor View Marine has gas.
Day Break Marine has gas and diesel.
Pensacola Yacht club is rebuilding the docks, but I estimae it will be several
weeks before the docks are available. Some of the other docks have been
repaired (such as Chico Marina, but there does not seem to be room for
transcients)
Anyone who wants to anchor in Bayou Chico, please give me a call 850 458 2841
and I can arrange dinghy landing at a home, and will be happy to take them to
stores etc.
West Marine is open limited hours and seems to be fully stocked. The service
business are all open. Most repairs going on now at the ship yards are people
who live in the area and had made appointments in the past. There will be a
fairly rapid turnover and the shipyard work area is functioning well. There
are several hundred damaged boats in a holding area at Pensacola Shipyard
complex.
Bell Marine (generators and engines) is in full swing. Brown Marine seems
very disorganized, and there is still a lot of dammage to the docks, but I
think in a pinch you could get work done there.
Palafox pier (right down town) has been cleaned of sunken boats and the docks
secured, but there is realistically no place to bring a boat. Scuba Shack is
taking fishing and dive charters and is open for all dive related
business--however it is about the only business South of Main Street open
(their boat was saved by taking it up the river).
The pleasant surpirse is that Seville Harbor, to the East of down town, has
gas and diesel ($ 2.29). Although not officially open, some transcients have
been accomidated at the docks. They are still broken, but shore access is
available--and there is no breakwater. Also there is no power yet, but water
will be on this afternoon. Also one restraunt is open and the Fish house
should be open in the week.
