Try using wax instead, any kind will do (bowling ally, auto, etc.) it won't
last forever, but it will stop the brass for dulling for many weeks or months
according to how much/little you touch them.

      Subject: T&T: Lacquering Brass

      Hi All,

We have just restored to almost new and very shiny a Seth Thomas clock
and barometer set. We would like to do a spray can lacquer (or other
material?) finish, but have been warned that it can be very difficult to
get a good job. Have any members done this successfully? If so what
brand and type did you use, and do you have any application suggestions?

      Thanks,

      Sandra & Rod
