    In my opinion the proper way to use snubbers, if in heavy weather, is a light
    line--usually 1/2" in a 20 foot length--this will allow a lot of spring and
    stretch. A second snubber is the 5/8" line, or perhaps 3/4" (this would be in
    a boat your size)--and will come tight as the 1/2" line is at about half of
    its stretch. This way, you have the shock absorption and safety.
