When you hit the Quick Link Mobile icon on your desktop you are offered
a small window with a pull down menu. On the menu you should have
choices such as Quick 2 Net, Broadband, Dial Up, Express Network 1xRTT.
Just choose the last and blow by the warning that you might be charged -
although you presumably will be unless it is off peak.
If you have questions about this you should call 611 and punch in the
option for mobile phone tech support. I find the people in the stores
often know nothing about the high speed stuff although they are getting
a lot better than they were 18 months ago. You don't have to pay the
$80/month for off-peak. Also note that such a contract is for data only.
Unlike Cingular they do not overlay voice over data. Other numbers you

Regarding the 1XRTT Verizon 230 bit network being free during non peek
times, I was wondering if you could explain how to use it. I am set up
for it but, Verizon tells me I must sign up for the service and pay the
$80 monthly fee or pay by the mega-byte. How do I get around this on
weekends and after 9 PM? Thanks for explaining?
