soon after I bought my current boat last year, I got a letter from the FL.
dpt of Revenue stating taht in conducting routine checks at marinas, they
noticed my boat. They were asking evidence that I had paid the 6% sales tax,
which I sent in...
yesterday, similar letter again... this time they say they had received
notice that a certificate of doucmentation had been issued and again asked
for evidence that tax had been paid...
I do have the current registration sticker, and had to produce proof of
having paid sales tax to get it..., displayed on the fwd port window (not on
the bow like registered boats) and no numbers on the bow.
triple checks to ensure tax is paid...
