I just installed a Polar Power DC Genny that i am really pleased with.. I Used to have a 12 volt 1500 amp house that i changed over to a 24 volt 750 amp .. I used to charge the house bank with the back side of the inverter (120 Amps ) on a cold day in Florida using my ac jenny.. It took almost 5 hours to refill the house bank... Now with the Polar Power DC Genny I can recharge in one to two hours... The polar power has a great genny that was designed from the ground up to be a DC gen. They can even be had with a refrigeration compressor so you can cool down your plates while charging your bank.. They are not a automotive alternator type set up that is connected to a lawnmower engine, it is state of the art system using a neat little Italian Lamberdini 2 cylinder Diesel that started life as a marine engine... These Polar Power Gennies can be set to up to 5 or more KW and in many different volt selections, now when charging my bank in the hot engine room I am showing 200 to 25
0 amps going into my batteries... What a big difference... I now only use my now smaller AC genny for running my air conditioners....
Polar Power has a great website that explains all about there generators.... I am really sold on there stuff and think it is really a well built quality unit that is purpose built
to be just what it is........
