Be advised, that the 2.0 upgrade appears to have no problems that would
make one regret having done so. I think the upper limit on marks/waypoints
in practical terms is about 50 or so, until there are some changes made. A
lot of people are likely to have more than that and I don't think they are
going to like the pain involved in working with any more than that.

The GSAK program that I mentioned is pretty difficult to work with, but is
VERY powerful for uploading and downloading waypoints to a GPS. The feature
set is extensive, but is really hard to get used to.

I have done beta testing for Borland, MarineMap and others over the past 2
decades and they never complained that I could not find a way to break
their stuff. Their usual reaction was, "you did what?" I would be more
inclined to cut some slack on these issues, where the limitations are
    documented.

The 900 waypoints are from my Garmin 76S, which holds up to 1000. It
includes buoys, shoal spots, outer rocks from Seattle to San Diego. The
culmination of about 10 years of collecting. This is the fallback system in
case the PDA chartplotting fails, in which case I can navigate with less
detail, but with a reasonable level of safety very near the coast, in some
cases as close as 1/4 mile.

I used O.N. coming out of Shelter Cove CA. the other day, weaving amongst
the rocks and shoals to go North up the coast to Cape Mendocino. This is a
really useful tool, with due regard for it's limitations of reliability of
the hardware and software, the batteries, the cabling... you get the idea.

    Regards,
    Mike
