Jeff,
If I understand what you say--and what the web site seems to also indicate,
Outdoor Navigator is a one time fee of $19.95--no other costs and you can
download all of the marine and topo charts which are in the database for no
additional fee?
Can these downloads be kept on SD cards for the Palm units, and then changed
as you travel? If there is a GPS module on the Palm OS unit, then it will
appropiately place an icom at the vessel's position. Does the new Outdoor
Manager allow GPS input to a laptop?--and thus navigation on the laptop or
computer.
If this is the case--this is the bargin of the century (at least the year).
One comment is that the topo map of one area in Pensacola is 4 year behind the
times. There was bridge opened over Bayou Chico in 2000 and it takes a
different route than the old draw bridge. I use this to guage the currancy of
map, marine chart and topo software.
Thanks
Bob Austin
