You asked for opinions on the best GPS. I assume you are looking for a chartplotter and not just a GPS. If so, having used Raymarine and Garmin, I would go with Garmin's 10.4" system. Garmin allows for overzooming, has a better screen display and it more user friendly. With that said, Raymarine's latest chart plotter looks to have corrected the things I didn't think were the best in their last offering. Another critical decision you'll have to make, if you have two helms, is whether to go with networked devices. You'll also have to decide if you need radar integrated into the same system. These other considerations will limit your possibilities, but still afford you some very good systems.
