Not at all! The oil companies put a good deal of effort into ensuring
that their products are compatible with their competitors' products;
thus making it more feasible to steal each other's customers.
Charlie Sims, the late founder of Gulf Coast Filter, used to make a
point of NEVER buying the same oil twice for his personal vehicle and
he never had a problem (I'm also pretty sure that he never did a
routine oil change either).
