This unit will sometimes (perhaps on a monthly interval) cycle
continuously without discharging water. The solution has been to manually
    depress the
float valve for a few seconds and then allow it to re-engage. And yes, the
    unit
it cleaned on a regular basis.

The question is might the unit be corrected, or should it be replaced with
something such as an Ultraswitch (and if the latter, the best place to
    acquire
    that which you would recommend).

    Rick

Hi Rick I have had this problem from time to time and the problem is
    cavitation, IMHO.
I don't think a different switch will help, and I don't know what the answer
is either. But you're right, switch it off then on and the problem goes
    away.
    Cheers
    Glenn.
