    Why not give one of the davit manufacturers a call, I'm sure they will sell

    I've had no luck over the past several years looking at marine catalogs or
    Googling ...

    Does anyone have a source for those nice chromed cylinders of heavy metal
    that are used to keep tension on dinghy davit cables?

    The cable passes through a hole in the center axis of the cylinder. I
    imagine they're about 10 lbs in weight.

    Sure tired of trying to apply enven tension by hand when re-winding the
    cable without the weight of the dink.
