    Larry,

    I did a delivery of a GB49 a while back that had extensive tinting on all salon
    Windows. While it certainly cut down on sun heating, it created two major
    problems:

       1. Night time visibility from the lower helm was drastically
          impacted to the point of creating an unsafe condition,

       2. The film had a metal film component that stopped all GPS signals
          from getting to hand held GPS receivers. When we lost the ship's
          GPS antenna due to water intrusion (the GB49 is a really wet boat
          in any type of head sea), the hand helds could not get a signal in
          the cabin. Duck taping a GPS antenna outside the window took care of that.
