Good grief! Two inches?!! I went back to the manual to confirm, and it does say "50 mm." Must be a misprint, but is in progression with other sizes for larger and smaller motors. Go figure. Good for a late night chuckle, anyway. I am thinking 1.0 should do it, but would be very interested in Arild's thoughts. There is a "2" just above and to the right of the mm, which I took to be a footnote, which I can't find...but if that were a "square" sign, we would be talking 250, wouldn't we? Hmmmm.

As to the breaker, I currently have a 1000 watt Lofrans winch (the new one is 1200 watt). I have been using 125 amp Blue Seas breaker. It was here when I got the boat and is working fine...so far. The old windlass is doing well, but is 20 years old, will be rehabbed and used for a rainy day backup.
