In general it is not a good idea to vent into habitable spaces because
there are so many ignition sources. It is better to vent overboard.

Mike and seveal other listee apparently did not see the significance of the
Northstar battery designator.
These batteries are specifically equipped with speciual collector vents
that terminate in a pipe spigot so that you can run a tube from the battery
right outside the vessel.
This makes these bateries special and distinctly difernt from the normal one
you are used to.
In addition the Northstar batteries are AGM and completely sealed.
The manufacturer also advertises them as being suited for installation lying
ontheir sides.
I had a pair of these on my test bench and can assure you they are very
different from what you are accustomed to.
In addition these batteries provide much higher power densities than normal
AGM batereis so a 2000 A-H capacity is not as big as you might expect based
on conventional 8D battery technology.
The concerns about the batteries causing he whole boatto become unstable is
unfounded unless the dinette is located 10 or 15 feet above the water line.
Not likely except on a megayacht.
By my calculations 2000 A-H would equal the weight of about four or five
normal adults males.
If that is too much weight to place around a dinette then the boat design
has serious problems.
