Skooch has 880 AH of Lifeline AGMs. But only one year of real use. I got the
AGMs because on the Hatteras the batteries are on the outside of the motors
on the stb side in two layers. Nearly impossible to check unless your a
monkey. I may act like a monkey but I can't reach these batteries, not with
a mirror, not with a watering wand. So economics did not come into play.
They charge at 100-125 amps from the SW2512 inverter (depends on the heat).
The best I've seen from the 150 amp alternator is 75 amps of charging. I
need to check the settings on the regulator, but I rarely need more than
that because I need about 250 amp hours after a day at anchor which is >4
hours of run time. Note: I have to run the gen set to cook . . . so when I
get a hot meal (not including coffee or microwave stuff) the batteries get
100 amps of charge for however time the dinner-lunch-breakfast takes. And if
its one of those hot humid nights on the Bay (not many this year), well the
A/C is running and everything is re-charged.
