    I would look into using a smaller BTU unit. Remember, you need to size the
    unit to the area you wish to cool and with A/C bigger is not better. If you over
    size the unit it may not run enough to keep the humidity down in the space
    you're trying to cool.

    Just duct the 16,000 Btu unit into the saloon area only and the new smaller
    unit should cool the fwd sleeping cabin and head just fine. And your genset and
    one 30a cord should handle the load just fine.
    At least that's how it's been done on most of the 32 GBs I've dealt with.

    One more thought. Your 30a cord should not even be getting warm running that
    one A/C unit. I'd check the amp draw and take a close look at all the plugs
    and wiring. I don't mean just the outside of the plugs. Pull back the boots and
    open them up and see what the wires and connections look like.
