There is a reason why the Xantrex Truecharge has a switch that locks out the
float mode. For under $30.00, you can add the temperature sensor. I turned
off the float mode because I found that instruction for Trojan deep-cycle
batteries on the Xantrex website. Previous to that, my Truecharge 40 was
    boiling off its electrolyte.

The original query was from a Hatteras owner with the factory original
ferroresonant charge. Those are not modern 3-phase chargers. What the
original poster needs to do is get a modern Charles, Newmar, or Xantrex
charger and control it in the manner prescribed by Capt. Gary Corn and Capt.
    Gail Eades.
