    Dick, You accomplished mechanically what "hard start" kits do electrically.
    You may find that after it runs awhile that it won't start again.
    I don't know if hard starts are available the voltage that Norcolds run on
    but for domestic fridges and freezers they are available from several
    suppliers including Grainger.
    I think basically they are capacitors that give the compressor a swift kick
    in the butt to get it going.
