Hello everyone! Cinderella's Journey continues, slowly. First, we were halted
in Mobile by currrents too strong and trashy to persue on the Tenn-Tom, so we
sat at Fairhope Marine on the east coast of Mobile Bay for nearly 3 weeks!
Luckily, I have a cousin there, but they left shortly after we arrived. I fell
in love with Fairhope though, we rented a car and I started house-hunting, to
Gordon's displeasure. A thrill of our stay there was meeting Bob Austin and
his lovely wife. As I am writing this, we have only one day to go before
arriving at Green Turtle Resort where we will haul the boat for bottom
painting. My son will drive my car down and pick us up on Saturday and we'll
go to Cincinnati. Not in our plan, but we are so late now that I have a
doctor's appointment in Cincinnati Aug 9 which is the date when the lock at
Louisville closes until Sept 23. I still hope to take Cicnderella on up to
Cincinnati. a few normal hassles along the way, but nothing serious. We had
just left Demopolis when the power failed (no alternator) so we returned for
repairs and one new battery.
Well, I'd better 'send' while I can, I've been without email for weeks now.
