    The previous posters on this subject are right on target, but in answer to you
    question . . . .

    Use a little basic solid geometry to figure the cubic inches in the tank.
    You'll have to divide it up into rectangles and triangles. First, figure the
    area of the ends of each tank (height times depth for rectangles, two sides
    times depth divided by 2 for triangles) then multiply that surface area of the
    end times the length of the tank. That gives you cubic inches. Then divide
    that figure by 231 (number of cubic inches per gallon).

    When I recently figured my fuel capacity (and learned the tanks held 33% more
    than the PO had indicated) I used a figure of 245 cubic inches per gallon to
    take into account the thickness of the walls, baffles, tubes, etc.
