Ahoy Listees,
I had asked this a few weeks ago, maybe it didn't go through. I am about to
return to my boat and one of the things on my to-do list is to splice loops
and ends on 10 new dock lines. They are new 3-strand, twisted pair, nylon, from
Boat U/S. The problem is the lines are very stiff and more than difficult to
run a fid through the strands for the splice. I have machine washed and
socked them in a bag, with hot and cold water, with Downey and soap, no bleach,
but they still remain unworkable. Has anyone out there found a way to get the
lines a bit more pliable?
Thanks,
Capt Joe Guarino
