I recently installed a JRC 1500 Mk II - it seems to work well, and is
fairly easy to use. I would like an easier way to switch between
range selection and gain setting - as it is, one knob is used for these
functions, sea clutter, tune and rain suppression - you press the knob
to step through the functions, so you have to press the knob half a
dozen times to switch from range to gain and back.

I haven't had to use the Radar in poor visibility yet, but the
    resolution appears to be adequate.

Last weekend, my boat was committee boat for a sailing race, and we
had the mark boat measure the length of the starting line with GPS -
the PRO thought the line was about 600 ft (0.1 mi.), but the GPS said
900 (0.15 mi.), so I checked it with the radar, and confirmed that the
GPS measurement was correct. There was a large sail training ship 0.2
mile away, and in line with our mark - no problem distinguishing our
    mark boat from the ship.
