Typically the Cutlass bearing is the last bearing before the prop. There is
usually only one such bearing in a system and it must be water lubricated. The
stuffing box is not intended to be a bearing but is there to keep water out of
the boat. Shaft support bearings are between the stuffing box and the engine
and are either journal bearings or ball bearings.
