heard yet! True or not, it was very entertaining.
Don't know about the cat thing, but there is a breed of dog that was
used in Newfoundland/Nova Scotia by the fishermen. These large black
dogs (not Newfoundlands) did all sorts of tasks for the fishermen, one
of which was to help "herd" schools of surface fish into a net. I don't
remember the name of the breed, but they come from a certain part of
Newfoundland. Farley Mowat has a great description (probably
embellished a bit) of these dogs in his book The Boat Who Wouldn't
Float, which is worth reading even if you aren't interested in dogs.
