Next message: Harry Graham Jr.: "T&T: Re: Lehman or Lees."
The first time Lincoln, my Shihtzu, met with rough seas was aboard my
Nordhavn. He was not yet used to the boat and whenever the engine started,
cowered in the ell under the settee. Otherwise, he insisted on being under the
feet of whoever was at the helm. In this case it was a paid captain. The helm
was in the pilot house with a teak floor. Splayfooted, he slid back and forth
as the boat rolled. He threw up. Next time, the next captain had me take him
below, and he did not throw up and was more comfortable with the boat. The
last time, he stayed above (now on Cinderella) with Gordon and was fine. He
insists on driving the boat with whoever is at the helm (not always
appreciated!) and seems to take it in stride. The vet had given me medication
but I have never given it to him. I guess somee dogs never get used to the
motion just like some people!
