>From the "Log": Cedar Hill, MO. Boater dies in attempt to rescue dog.
The man drowned when he was in the water and could not get the dog back
aboard. Emergency crews said they found the pet swimming in circles when
they arrived.
This incident took place on brown water. You can imagine much tougher would
it be on blue water.
I use a plank about 8 feet with slats evenly placed across the plank. A
fender is placed across under the plank about 3 feet from the end to go into
the water. The other end is attached to the swim platform . Our 3 year old dog
eventually gets it figured out ( seems to have to learn every year ).Cheap and
effective.
I hate stories like this. Our dog works under the same rules I do and
wears her life jacket even if she hates it ( except for swim time). It has a
handle for easy recovery when she falls in .
Our pets deserve the same protection as us and why do we continue to not
use our life Jackets? I am looking down the dock right now from my office and
there is a child running down the dock with no life jacket . Got a Go
Willy
