"Frank Bales" <> ask Does anyone use a Dickinson diesel
cook stove, or know anybody that does? I've wondered what the cons of such
    a stove is.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ------
We have a Dickinson Pacific on the Dolores E. (a converted Canadian salmon
troller). It really fits the boat, provides a dry warm heat to the main
cabin. We love it in the winter here in San Francisco and just turn it on
and leave it run 24/7 when we are aboard.

As too cooking -- you can, but it is a BIG change from the Force 10
propane stove we had on our sailboat. There isn't much control over the
temp at the stove top or oven, at least not quickly. From a cold start it
takes about an hour to boil water. Mine doesn't get hot enough to pop
popcorn, yet can cook bacon and eggs, steak, boil veggies, etc. We've
baked a cake in the oven which gets pretty hot. Wouldn't be great for
    Florida.

    Sure looks cool though :>)

    Regards Robby & Dolores []
