There are many marinas that I have visited on the Chesapeake that have only
one 30 amp outlet per slip. My Hatteras had two 30 amp circuits, one for
A/C, the other for house loads. I used a 50 amp "Y" adapter to convert the
two 30s to a single 50 when I needed it, (two female 30s attached to one
male 50 amp plug). I carried an extra 50 foot 30 amp cord (for a total of
    3) in case I needed to plug one 30 amp cord into the outlet for my
transient slip and used the extension to reach an adjacent slip's plug for
the second 30 amp plug. I've had to do this a number of times in order to
get two 30's. When a 50 was available, I used the adapter.
