    Congratulations on your new boat. You can get to Fla during the winter, you
    just have to wait your weather windows longer, and wear your fleece
    longjohns. Last year at this time the ICW was frozen from Norfolk north. The
    CG had ice breakers working the Chesapeake ship channels. As you know if
    you've been in Jersey, the weather has been mild for the past few weeks.
    I would guess you better get going. Have a safe trip.

    Snip> New Year to all. I have just purchased a 34' MT located in New Jersey.
    I would really like to take it to Florida for the remainder of the winter.
    It would be my first time.Is it too cold and tricky this time of year? The
    use of a Captain at 300 per day plus is too expensive. Trucking it without
    major removal of the flybridge is also too difficult. Any thoughts by all of
    you ICW travelers would be welcome. <snip>
