For many years I used only Danforth High Test Anchors--in Southern California.
If an anchor works in your conditions and you never stray, or have severe
storms, then I suspose that one anchor would be OK--I carry 3 on my 28 footer
and (Delta, Danforth and Fortress) thee on my 22 footer--two Danforth's and a
Fortress--I also have a folding SS Northill which I put on board if I am going
on a long trip in either boat.
I cannot understand why anyone would carry just one anchor. There are times
when you have to anchor bow and stern and there are times when an anchor may
be hung up and either not retrieved or dammaged. Anchors are inexpensive
(relitative).
