    It is mandatory over here (UK) that all new LPG Hob and oven units fitted
    into canal and river boats have flame failure devices fitted.
    There are exceptions, as in units that were fitted in a boat before 1998.
    Also when the safety certificate is issued it lists the appliances fitted to
    the boat so the next inspector knows if a unit has been added.
