A properly adjusted radar reflects reality. So, if you think you are
entering a horseshoe shaped harbor and you don't see that on the radar, it's
time to think. Now you have to be experienced in using that radar and know
radar's limitations. For example, one side of the harbor has a gradually
sloping beach ending in a cliff while the other side is a seawall. Expect
the seawall to be depicted as a straight line with good definition. Realize
that the sloping beach is the real limit on travel and not the cliff further
back. But, the radar is not going to falsely show you that you are entering
a river 2 miles South.
