I had a 4 cilinder izusu engine in one of my boats,had the same problem with
the oil getting hot and breaking down,i added en oil cooler,same water that
cooled the engine circulated tru it and that solved the problem.
Have you checked the termostat ? I also had a 3 cilinder volvo raw water
cooled that had to change termostats every year,finnally took it out and ran
wwithout it.
