TWL: Hinging Swim Platform

I have an Island Gypsy trawler which exceeds the allowed overall length for my slip by approximately 15 inches. If the swim platform (20 inches in depth) is removed the boat's overall length will easily will easily come in under the marina's requirementl. But I don;t want to give up the swim platform and believe there must be a means to hinge the swim platform so that it can be rotated to the vertical position against the transom, thus reducing the resulting swim platform overall projection to something in the neighborhood of 4 to 5 inches. That assumes the support brackets have been removed or can be rotated against the transom or ?
Has anyone done something like this before and how was it done? Appreciate any ideas on how I can accomplish this challenge.
