For those of you operating on the West coast, there are some more logs that
have been lost overboard as reported on one of the Marine Casualty sites I
monitor:
U.S. tug M/V Sea Commander, Surrey, Canada for Eureka, Calif. with log barge
-- 2,000 logs went overside Nov. 13, drifting offshore in a W-SW direction
approximately 100-miles off Tillamook Head, Oregon. Logs were in bundles of 5
prior to falling overboard. According to latest weather data from National
Oceanic Atmospheric Administration the logs heading back out to sea & may not strike
land for weeks. (Sat. Nov. 29 2003)
