You already have alternators and regulators on the engines, so it sounds
like all you need, Mike, is two combiners to automatically connect your
starting batteries to the inverter bank when the engine(s) is/are running.
If the alternators are rated at less than 100 amps output each, you could
use two Combiner 50's - Specifications at http://www.yandina.com/c50Info.htm
or if their individual output is greater than 100 amps you will need two
Combienr 150s's - Specifications at http://www.yandina.com/c150Info.htm .
They are in stock at West Marine stores. You will need to provide a good
gound jumper between the negative side of the house bank to the starting
banks negative if it is not already installed, with cable at least as heavy
as the starter motor cables on your engines. You can download owners
installation manuals from http://www.yandina.com/acrobats - scroll down to
the Combiner 50 or 150.
I'm not unconnected - we have manufactured the West Marine battery combiners
since 1993 with about 25,000 now in the field.
