Motor oil is considerably more viscous than fuel and puts a much higher load
on the pump. A standard fuel pump would probably not work. After many years of
use, your oil pump motor probably shorted some armature windings causing a
much higher amperage drain. Northern Supply, a machinery and farm parts mail
order outfit sells oil transfer pumps which would probably work well. Either that
or a small motor rebuilder might be able to rewind the coils on your defunct
motor.
