Would a windup timer work for you? A standard 120 VAC timer from the local
hardware store will handle up to 15 amps at 120 volts. I'm sure that 15
minute ones are pretty common. Just make sure it is a wind up type. The
fancy electronic timers count down using 60 cycles per second of alternating
current to measure the elapsed time. They won't work on direct current.
I have a 45 minute timer on my engine room lights. I installed it after the
second time I killed my batteries by leaving them on.
