Be careful here. Note that current training guidelines in the Canadian
Coast Guard Auxiliary do not allow the wearing of gloves when handling
lines (wire ropes excepted), for the exact reason that the glove can
get snagged and cause the loss of limb, or pull the crew member
overboard. That was also drilled home by our ex-Navy trainers.
